I have said it several times before: Red lipsticks are my weakness, and I really don’t need any more of them.

But lucky for me, no one seems to pay any attention to these claims, least of all myself, so I was very excited when a package with the new Astor lipstick range called “Perfect Stay Fabulous” arrived at my doorstep.

As you can see in the video, it is a lovely selection of reds with different undertones, and I had a hard time deciding which ones would find a permanent home in my makeup bag.

Claims and reality

Astor claims that these are intense in color, hydrating, comfortable to wear throughout the day and long-lasting.

I don´t agree with all of that.

All lipsticks last 3-4 hours on me without eating or drinking hot beverages, and none survived a full meal, so I personally wouldn’t call them long-lasting.

The smell is artificially fruity, and I personally am not a big fan (my sister loves it), but it doesn’t linger once applied and doesn’t leave a weird taste.

But they are very hydrating and comfortable to wear on the lips and stay that way. No drying down, but no slipping around my face either. Keep in mind that like most hydrating products they do transfer if you don’t blot them, so they probably aren’t the perfect pick if you plan on do a lot of kissing.

At this time of year, with my lips chapped and dry from heating and cold, these are the perfect every day lipsticks for me, as they offer the opaque color I love paired with the hydration of a lip balm I need.

Three shades have found their way into my makeup bag already.
