They say that travel broadens the horizon and helps you grow as a person.
And I wholeheartedly agree with that.
But what happens after you return home, all grown and filled with new experiences, only to find that the same boundaries still hold you?
Now I don’t want to get deep here. I am talking about makeup, you see?
Just imagine what happens when you get to try a makeup item you wanted to purchase for quite some time and fall head over heels for it while knowing it isn’t available where you live?
Well, there is a solution, but I will come to that later. I want to talk about the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in “Fair” first.
What Collection claims:
Conceals imperfections and blemishes for up to 16 hours. Water resistant and transfer proof. Multiple award-winning.
Facts:
Price and packaging
The concealer is housed in a plastic tube with black writing that quickly disappears after (daily) use. There is no luxurious feel or pretty rosegold shine about it, but it works. One tube contains 8g of product and is available for 3,99 GBP on Boots online or for 8,90 € on Amazon here.
There are four colors available, I use the shade Fair.
Application and wear-time
The provided doe-foot applicator works well at applying product to your face, but for hygienic reasons I prefer to dab some on the back of my hand and use a brush, especially when I use it to cover up spots.
And while 16 hours is a bold claim (that I haven’t tested to extent yet), I am happy to report that this is the first concealer that actually stays put on my face throughout the whole day, no transferring and rubbing off.
Results
Strangely enough, the concealer does oxidize on my hand after application (Anyone else always running around with swatches they forgot to take off? Just me?), but stays pretty much the same color on my face.
The coverage isn’t full, but medium, as you will see in the pictures below, but the fact that it stays put all day and doesn’t budge is more than enough to make up for it in my books.
Here it is used on a birthmark on the back of my hand:
Does it live up to its claims?
Yes.
It conceals spots and marks, it is transfer-proof, long-lasting and water resistant (tested on my hand…)
Will I repurchase?
Yes.
Getting back to my introduction, I actually found two ways of doing so that don’t include traveling. After mentioning that concealer in my 2015 favorites video, the lovely Inma from Sunshine and Glow reached out to me and offered to keep me supplied (Thank you!) and while researching for this post I found out that Boots actually do ship to Germany. Ah, the possibilities…
Who do I recommend it to?
If you are looking for a concealer that really lasts throughout the day, that one is for you.
If you are on a budget, go check that one out.
If you are into high coverage don’t match any of the four shades, you will have to pass on this one.
Which one is your preferred concealer?
And what are the downsides of traveling you experienced?
