Yes, I missed the Skincare Stash Update for August – I was traveling end of August, start of September and once I had returned and the laundry was done (why is there always so much laundry?), it was already September 15th, so I decided to lump everything into one huge post now. And a huge post it is! There were quite a few things waiting for me when I returned, so let’s dive right in!

New In August and September 2024
New In August and September 2024

What do I have to show you? A few devices: a new LED mask from Faradbeauty with a very interesting structure, a laser hair removal device from Currentbody and, different from the regular stuff, a sauna blanket from Currentbody as well (that didn’t make it into the picture as it was way too big). Then skincare: from Medik8, a brand new to me, from Geek and Gorgeous, regular repurchases, a Hypochlorous Acid Spray from Amazon and a new addition to the innbeauty Project lineup. And lastly makeup: a NYX eyeliner (my current one dried out while I was in Sweden) and three brushes, again purchased in Sweden in their local beauty department store kicks.

Let’s take a closer look!

Currentbody Skin Laser Hair Removal Device
Currentbody Skin Laser Hair Removal Device

New in from Currentbody

You might remember the story about hairy armpits I told in July, when I decided to switch from using IPL to a laser hair removal device I had been sent. Good thing I have two armpits, because last month I received the Currentbody Skin Laser Hair Removal Device (706 € a piece, full review coming soon) to test. So far I have been treating only one side with the DermRays version to be able to compare the reduction in growth and will continue to do so until 3 months are done for a fair review, but as soon as that is done the other arm pit will be treated with the version from Currentbody Skin. Which is, first impression, easy and painless to use, I have tested in on parts of my body already that I will not post pictures of online.

The second thing I got sent is outside my regular scope of content, but totally in line with my personal preferences: The Currentbody Skin Infrared Sauna Blanket (669 € a piece, full review coming soon). I love going to the sauna, especially in winter and after a workout, but I never tried one of those portable blankets before. Obviously half of the claims on the website are bogus (“burn up to 600 calories in 1 hour“, “Full body detox“), but it is great for stress relief and post workout recovery. And way too big to include in my regular picture setup, which is why you will have to deal with a different angle here.

Faradbeauty LuxeHalo
Faradbeauty LuxeHalo

New in from Faradbeauty

Can you have to many LED masks? The answer is yes – you only have one face after all! But – hear me out – what if they all had different features? That would justify adding number four to the collection, wouldn’t it? That at least was my reasoning when during the heat wave in summer Faradbeauty contacted me and offered to send over their version, the Faradbeauty LuxeHalo (179 € per device, full review coming soon) which only weighs 93 g and has what they call a birds nest structure to be more comfortable and at the same time keep a good distance from the face to guarantee even light distribution. I haven’t even finished testing number three in my collection, so it might be a while until I get around to this review, but it sure looks interesting.

Medik8 skincare
Medik8 skincare

New in from Medik8

When I tell you that Medik8 is new to me, you must be thinking I have been living under a (skincare) rock. And obviously it isn’t new to me as in I never heard of it before. Of course I have, they are the ones that offered the first Retinal solution, but I never got round to trying them myself. Until now, that is, as they very kindly sent over a few of their products for me to try. They sent the Medik8 C-Tetra Luxe Vitamin C Serum (30 ml for 82 €, full review coming soon), aiming to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and hyperpigmentation with a stabilized form of Vitamin C (read derivative), their Medik8 Advanced Day Ultimate Protect SPF 50+ (50 ml for 79 €, full review coming soon), a sunscreen with Photolyase, an enzyme aiming to help repair the damage done by UV light and their Medik8 Crystal Retinal 6 Serum (30 ml for 86 €, full review coming soon). The number 6 indicates the strength the serum has, it ranges from 1 for people with sensitive skin or new to retinoids up to 20 for experienced retinoid users. 6 is classified as regular strength – I am really exited to see how it compares to the numerous new and more affordable Retinal serums that were released over the last two years.

Geek and Gorgeous A-Game and C-Glow
New in from Geek and Gorgeous – A-Game and C-Glow

New in from Geek and Gorgeous

Speaking of more affordable retinals, here are two frequent repurchases: Geek and Gorgeous A-Game 5 (30 ml for 13,80 €, full review here) for my husband to use and Geek and Gorgeous C-Glow (30 ml for 12,85 €, full review here). Both have been staples in my household for years, but now is the first tim I picked them up at DM, a drugstore where they are now sold. Very convenient as you don’t have to wait until you need enough to qualify for free shipping…

innbeauty Project skincare
innbeauty Project skincare

New in from innbeauty Project

innbeauty Project is selling bundles on their website that combine individual products aiming to help with the same skin conditions, and on of them is this innbeauty Project Acne Treatment Duo (bundle available for 47 $). I already own the innbeauty Project Acne Serum (30 ml for 35 €, full review coming soon), but the innbeauty Project Pimple Paste (14,5 g for 18 $, full review coming soon) is new to me. It seems to be a clay based drying past to bring down active pimples, so indeed a good addition to a serum aiming to help fight blemishes.

Briotech Topical Skin Spray
Briotech Topical Skin Spray

New in from Briotech

When I was doing the research for my Ingredient Deep Dive on Hypochlorous Acid (you can read it here), I wanted to have a few options to try myself. Now there are a vareity of different sprays out there, but most of them are kind of pricey, so I opted for the Briotech Topical Skin Spray (100 ml for 14,99 €, full review coming soon) that I purchased from Amazon. I am someone that struggles with body acne when I sweat a lot (More info: How to get rid of acne on your body) and keeping this spray in my gym bag has helped me a lot for the occasion when I can’t shower immediately after a workout (which happens quite often, especially when I teach two KravMaga kids classes back to back and then rush home to prepare dinner). It is too early to say if I will keep it in my routine long term, but first impressions are good.

NYX Epic Ink Liner
NYX Epic Ink Liner

New in from NYX

I wear liquid liner almost every single day, so when my current one gave up during out holiday in Sweden, I had to shop for a replacement there. Which forced me to go out of my comfort zone – I usually grab one from Catrice that works well enough, but Catrice wasn’t available. In general shopping for cosmetics isn’t as easy in Sweden as it is here in Germany where I can grab makeup in every supermarket. I had to go to their Sephora equivalent, a store called kicks, where I decided to go for a pen instead of a brush. When you have to try something new, go all out I guess. The NYX Epic Ink Liner (1 ml for 8,95 €, full review coming soon) works well enough to stay in my daily routine, but I need to put it to the test a little more to give you my final verdict – how well does it up during a good crying session? What happens when you get caught in the rain (with or without Pina Colada)?

Beauty Act brushes by kicks
BeautyAct brushes by kicks

New in from BeautyAct by kicks

Speaking of kicks, I also picked up three new brushes there from their in house line BeautyAct by kicks: Number 201 All Over Shading Brush (149 Kr), Number 202 Tapered Crease Brush (129 Kr) and Number 205 Buffing Blending Brush (149 Kr). All brushes are vegan and in Swedish called sminkborstar, which I think is incredibly cute. First impressions is that they are soft and work well, but I need to see how they hold up to repeated washing.
