As always during this time of year, I don’t have much new stuff to show you, and the one I have is mainly favorites I stocked up on during the many sales that took place in November. It is a great way to replace the pricier things for me, like Estée Lauder, Olaplex and new in this list, K18 that would otherwise hurt the wallet quite a bit.
Most of the things mentioned today will be shown on here again within a week when I share my Holy Grail skincare products updated for 2024 (here is last years if you are curious) and already have a dedicated review on the blog too, which I will link in case you want to know more. As I have another post scheduled for Monday, it won’t be the last time we speak this year. There is a bit to catch up on after my unplanned break.
New in from Estée Lauder
I have long been raving about the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Recovery Serum (50 ml for 140 € – 87 € on sale, full review here) for years now, and I keep repurchasing. The bigger bottle lasts me well over a year, so stocking up during a sales period makes absolute sense for me. The debate whether or not it is worth the outrageous price point is ongoing online, and I understand. It is more than I usually pay for my products as well. In this case though the mixture of peptides, fermented and soothing ingredients makes my skin calm, happy and glowing, so I keep coming back to it. There might be another one that I love as much now though that I discovered in 2024, not a dupe, but something giving me the same results – I will have to use them side by side to finally decide which one will get repurchased.
New in from K18
The k18 Leave-in Molecular repair hair mask (50 ml for 75 € – 56,99 € in sale – full review here) is very new to me. I have used it for around half a year now after having purchased a travel size first to see if I got on with it. It took some time to figure out how to best integrate it in my routine, in the beginning I absolutely hated it, but now that I know what to pair it with I don’t want to be without it anymore. Again, it is very, VERY expensive, so I hope the 50 ml I purchased now will last me though the year.
New In from Olaplex
More hair care – the older I get, the more I spend on my hair to keep it looking decent – this time from Olaplex. The first thing is the Olaplex No 3 Hair Perfector (100 ml for 29,95 € – 18,99 € in sale – full review here) that I use around once a week before washing. 100 ml last around a year for me, which is why I don’t get the bigger bottle that would be better value for money. I did once and it took me forever to get through and in the end it was looking all dirty and gross. If your hair is less fine than mine, it might be the better option though.
The second is the Olaplex No 7 Bonding Oil (30 ml for 29.95 € – 18,90 € in the sale – full review here), another product I have had in my routine for a while now. I don’t use it daily, even though you totally could, but after washing and before I heat style my hair. As pre-brushing detangler I have another, much more affordable option that helps me actually use it regularly. Somehow I have a mental block when it comes to doing the same with the Olaplex Oil, probably due to the price. I know I use much more expensive skincare on my face daily without batting an eye lid, but still, this seems to be how I am wired.
New In from Garnier
This is the one I use daily before brushing, the Garnier Fructis Multi-Use Wonder Oil (150 ml for 5,95 €, full review coming someday). Despite it claiming to work due to the fruit oils added I think the smoothing and detangling effect is mainly from the silicones added, but as I like the texture and perfume, it doesn’t weigh my hair down and reduces breakage by detangling my strands, I don’t mind. It is what I use to detangle my childrens hair as well – their ability to turn their tresses into knots is nothing less than amazing – so you will usually find one or more bottles in our respective bathrooms.
