Favorite Face of … September

If you are not familiar with the “Favorite Face of …” series, click here for a little introduction. Short story even shorter, it is the makeup that I wore most during that month, featuring the favorite (as in most used) makeup products.

Favorite Face of September, a bronze smokey eye

As you may know, I spend a big part of September in France, soaking up the sun and enjoying Chocolate Chaud and Pain au Chocolate.
I wasn’t really in fall mood, but when I did the research for my last blogpost, an upcoming trend immediately caught my attention: The bronze smokey eye!

I figured it was beach appropriate as well as travel friendly, because I realized I owned the perfect palette already.

But before I go into product details, first a close up of the eyes, both open and closed.

1. Products used on my eyes:
I recently added another Chubby Stick for eyes to my collection, this time in “Ample Amber” (read my review on “Bountiful Beige” here if you want to know more about them) and figured it was the perfect base, giving my lids an all over, subtle copper tone.
On top of that I used a MAC quad I purchased ages ago from a LE.
First I put “Manila Paper”, a shimmery crème color, in my inner corner, then dabbed a little “Flip”, a warm gold, in the center of my lids and then applied “Aztec Brick”, a true copper, on the outer third. The last shadow, “Creole Beauty” went into my crease and under my eye.
Because the whole look leaned a little on the reddish side, I lined my eyes with MAC Fluidline in “Avenue”, a dark brown with golden flecks, and finished off with Cliniques High Impact Mascara in “Black” (no final verdict yet, I need a little more testing time).

2. Products used on my face and lips
As I was on holiday, the rest of my face was very simple.
Maybelline The Eraser Concealer in 01 “Light” under my eyes and around my nose to conceal redness/tiredness, IsaDora Velvet Touch Compact Powder in 11 “Soft Mist” (Review here) all over my face and the MaxFactor Baked Blush in 13 “Seductive Pink” on my cheeks.
Another one of the Clinique Chubby Sticks, “Mega Melon”, stayed in my beach bag pretty much all the time. The perfect “my lips but better”-shade.

I can see myself wearing this look very much come fall and winter maybe paired with a darker lip as the days get more chilly and my love for berry tones is reawakened.

What have you been wearing lately?
And is the bronze smokey eye a trend you will be sporting this season?
