The fresh Black Tea Corset Cream Firming Moisturizer is just one out of three different moisturizers in the fresh Black Tea line and is specifically aimed at sagging skin, promising an instant lifting effect. Similar to what a corset would do, I assume, as it pulls everything in tight, adding structure and definition to previously soft tissue.

I am no stranger to corsets, I wore them quite often when I still did LARP and I even modeled for a friend a decade ago that sold them – that is a story for another time though. Their effect is truly impressive, pushing everything where it is supposed to be. Is a cream able to do something even remotely similar? Let’s take a closer look.

And if you are interested in more reviews of the fresh Black Tea skincare line, I talk about everything I have tried here:

What the fresh Black Tea Corset Cream Firming Moisturizer claims

A peptide-powered moisturizer proven to immediately firm the skin on the face and neck for a tighter, lifted look with more defined contours.

Facts about the fresh Black Tea Corset Cream Firming Moisturizer

Prize and size

One pot (dark glass with a brown metallic lid) contains 50 ml and is available for 102 € on the website here. Yes, you read that right – 102 €. Which is quite a lot for a moisturizer.

Texture and smell

The face cream is white, feels very silky and, well, creamy. Really a beautiful sensory experience if it weren’t for the scent that, similar to the other fresh Black Tea products I have tried is rather strong and not to my personal taste, although it resembles tea.

How to use the fresh Black Tea Corset Cream Firming Moisturizer

According to the website, you can apply the Firming Corset Cream both morning and night, using upward sweeping motions. These upward swiping motions aren’t reserved to this cream though, there is the general advice to apply your skincare that way to not constantly pull your skin downward – if that really makes a difference though has surely not been evaluated in studies. Still, it won’t hurt either.

Despite the luxurious texture the cream isn’t too rich for me to use in the mornings underneath my sunscreen in winter, although in general I prefer it at night. No matter if I used it morning or night or even twice a day, I did not notice an immediate or long term firming effect.

Hover the mouse over an ingredient for short explanation. Read more on INCIDecoder.
You will find Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate and Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Biotin, Vitamin E and Adenosine (More info: The benefits of fermented ingredients in skincare and The benefits of Green Tea Extract in skincare). On top of that you’ll get Glycerin as humectant and Acetyl Dipeptide-1 Cetyl Ester or Calmosensine, a peptide claiming to relax muscles and so prevent the formation of wrinkles (More info: Everything you need to know about peptides in skincare).

Where the firming claim comes in I couldn’t really see, as none of the ingredients specifically claims to firm and tighten skin, at least not to my knowledge.

Again you will find Fragrance as well as Geraniol, Linalool and Citronellol. (More info: Is fragrance in skincare dangerous?)

Does it live up to its claims?

No.

My contours did not look lifted and the skin on my neck and face was not noticeably tighter.

Would I repurchase and which skin types do I recommend the fresh Black Tea Corset Cream Firming Moisturizer to?

I will most certainly not repurchase as it is way above the price I am usually willing to spend on my face creams. Yes, there is the odd exception for something that excites me so much, I do splurge, but here nothing other than the texture would tempt me.

If money is not a problem and your skin is more mature, but not very dry, you might enjoy the texture, but especially if you are below the age of 40, I think there are more affordable options out there you could get.
