If you are not familiar with the “Inspired by…” series, click here for an explanation.
But short story even shorter, each month I choose a seasonal ad and try to recreate the models look with colors I already own.
Dressing up and awkward posing included!
And for May 2015 it is the Dior Tie Dye Summer 2015 Collection

This installment of “Inspired by…” is very special to me, because the beautiful and talented Agata from Her and Makeup agreed to do a collaboration with me.
So head over to her blog and check out how she interpreted this look!
I can tell you, it sure feels strange posing in front of a camera bare chested with an umbrella…
I lacked the pretty umbrella, so I went for a rainbow colored one |
The main focus in this look are the pretty, colorful eyes, so lets look at a close up of the eye makeup.
Close up of the eye makeup. Should have put more effort in blending… |
To recreate this look I used a neutral but sparkly shadow all over my lid and lined my upper water line with MACs gel liner in “Midnight Blues”, a beautiful blue color. On top of that gel liner, I added teal eyeshadow in the tear duct and a shimmery green eyeshadow on the inner third of my upper lash line.
In the outer V went some brown eyeshadow and a dark peach tone gave warmth and definition to the crease.
I couldn’t tell exactly from the promo picture, but the model seemed to have some warmer shade on her lid, too.
Several coats of mascara and a (barely noticeable) line of golden eyeshadow on my lower lash line completed the eyes.
Products used on my eyes:
– MACs eyeshadow in “Sand and Sun” (matte): a dark peach
– MAC eyeshadow in “Flip” (frost): a warm gold
– MAC eyeshadow in “Shimmer Moss”(frost): a teal with golden sheen
– MAC eyeshadow in “Swimming”(frost): a green with golden shimmer
– MAC gel eyeliner in “Midnight Blues”: a teal tinged dark blue
– Artdeco Ultra Effect Mascara in black (Review here)
MAC eyeshadows starting left, going clockwise: “Sand and Sun”, “Flip”, “Shimmer Moss”, “Swimming”; MAC gel eyeliner in “Midnight Blues”; Artdeco Utra Effect Mascara |
I kept the face simple, as the model has gorgeous and even skin, but not too much contouring or highlighting going on. She just has perfect cheekbones by herself *sigh*.
Some concealing, a Tinted moisturizer, a little contour under my cheekbone with MACs “Harmony” (I need more help in that department than she does) and a pretty pinky-coral blush were all I wore.
Products used on my face:
– MAC Pro Conceal and Correct Palette in Light (Review here)
– Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector in Light (Review here)
– MAC “Harmony” blush for contouring
– MAC “Instant Chic” blush on my cheeks
Clockwise: MAC Pro Conceal and Correct Palette in Light, Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector, MAC “Harmony”, MAC “Instant Chic” |
The lips were a beautiful coral tinted peach, looking glossy and juicy. I colored mine in with a coral pencil and applied an opaque peach gloss on top.
As close as I can get without surgery I guess…
Products used on my lips:
– MAC lip pencil in “Mouth Off”
– MAC Pro Longwear Lipglass in “Persistent Peach”

Quite a fun summer look, don’t you think?
I am sure I will wear it again, but pair it with a top and loose that umbrella…
Are you into as much into teal and peach as I am this summer?
