My everyday makeup routine – It is all lies

As much as I would love to tell you that my current everyday makeup routine was inspired by the crisp white snow against the red berries on the ilex in our garden, it would be a lie.

I started wearing this makeup in early December, when the holidays rekindled my love affair with red lipsticks. Which is technically the second lie, as my love affair with red lipsticks does never need rekindling.

My everyday makeup routine Winter 2017

Around the holidays there was no snow to be seen. Just grey clouds heavy with rain and brown, rotting leaves. Not the prettiest colors to use as makeup inspiration.

It still may be a seasonal thing though, because the colors I picked are less warm than what I usually go for, and as I learned on other blogs throughout the last weeks, many people tend to go for cooler shades in the cold (see Dagmaras beautiful winter look for example).

At least I had frosty glitter on my eyes, bright red on my lips and cheeks that looked flushed as if I had just come in from riding a sleigh. Or having a snowball fight. Lie number three, because after these activities I usually have a red nose and mascara everywhere, as I shun the waterproof ones because they aren´t the easiest to take off.

So there you go, a makeup look based on lies is what I present you today, but a pretty one if I might say so myself.
