Did you know that less than a third of my readers are German? The majority comes from the UK and the US. That kind of puts me in a dilemma:

I have some brand new, sparkling things from pixi to share with you in todays video. But they are only new in Germany, the UK has had them for quite a while now.

So do I title this post: pixi new releases and risk people from the UK thinking it was a click bait? Or do I title it pixi new releases Germany, risking only a third of my readers will be remotely interested?

 

 

The difficulties of “having your target audience in mind”, always among the top three of those annoying “How to succeed in blogging” posts that never really seem to help. Wonder how I know? Because I click them every time. So much for “I only blog for the fun and don´t care about numbers” *cough*

Anyway, I decided to stick with New In from pixi as title. Should work well enough.

pixi by petra MultiBalm Baby Petal

A cream stick suitable for use on cheeks and lips, infused with aloe vera and shea butter. It claims to add a touch of color to your face, and it is absolutely true to that claim. As I demonstrate in the video, it is easy to blend and gives a very subtle color on the cheeks. On the lips it does not work very well for me, emphasizing my vertical lip lines. The balm in general does not stay very long, about one hour on my lips and three on my cheeks, so it is not my favorite. I think it is best suited for someone looking for a very natural look that can easily be topped up on the go, as the stick is really convenient and it is impossible to overdo that color.

pixi skintreats Vitamin Wakeup-Mist

I am going to start with the one issue I have with every pixi mist I have tried so far: The mist. It is never quite fine enough to be sprayed carefree, I have to make sure that I am keeping my distance and spray a little upwards to let it rain down. But once you have that trick down, the Vitamin wakeup mist gets a big thumbs up from me. The ingredient list at first glance is full of brightening and firming things, it contains Vitamin C, Niacinamide and Arginine and my skin feels refreshed and hydrated after using it. I have of course not used it long enough to give you my final verdict, I will follow up with an in depth review some time later, but right now I am a fan. Personally I prefer to use it as a skincare step, but it can be used on top of makeup to freshen up the skin as well.

pixi skintreats Sun Mist

You know I am religious about reapplying my SPF, and the discovery of the Bioderma Hydrabio Anti UV mist was a game changer for me. No more excuses, just spritz it on top of your makeup and you are good to go. Of course I wanted to try the pixi version as soon as I learned about the upcoming release. Again, I have some issues with the mist. It is by no means fine, and when sprayed directly on the face the first few times, it left me with noticeable droplets of product on my cheeks and forehead. That improved with time, but I am not yet sure if I prefer it over the Bioderma version. It is comfortable to wear and convenient for top ups, leaving no white cast and not disrupting your makeup. The SPF used is chemical and it does contain alcohol, I know these are questions I regularly get when reviewing sunscreen.

pixi Glow-O2 Oxygen Mask

I have to admit I wanted that one purely for #skintertainment (totally a word!). It is one of these bubbling masks that you massage on your skin and release the chemically bound oxygen in the formula. It bubbles and tingles (a tiny bit) and claims to provide an anti-fatigue effect. I have to also admit that before using that mask, I had already decided that I did not believe in topically applied oxygen. I still don´t, but even as a disbeliever I couldn´t help but notice how plump and nice my skin looked after application. Oxygen aside, it contains a blend of hydrating, firming and brightening ingredients that on its own would make the mask worth repurchasing after first impression. The bubbles are just the icing on the cake. Full review with ingredients will follow.

Out of the new releases, I highly recommend the Vitamin Wakeup Mist and the O2 Oxygen mask, I like the Sun Mist and personally don´t care too much about the MultiBalm. A probably repurchase rate for three out of four isn´t that bad, don´t you think?
