Resultime 5 expertise eye cream – The lure of Paris

To some people, something foreign will always be superior to the things they can get right next door. And some people go as far as claiming something is foreign even if it isn’t, to make it sound even fancier.

Case in point a woman I saw before general anesthesia many years ago. We were talking about her medication when she told me about something she was taking for her diabetes. I had honestly never heard of the product before, and she claimed that her physician had it imported all the way from France, so I had her write down the name. When I saw it written, it dawned on me what was happening: She refused to take “regular” pills, so her doctor gave her a pretty standard medication, but pronounced it French. Believing it was more exotic than what her friends were getting, she gladly took it.

Now Resultime is a French brand, no false claims here. But the fact  is a major selling point as well. After all, the French can do no wrong! So lets see if the Resultime 5 expertise eye cream convinced me.

What Resultime claims:

A unique anti-ageing eye cream that targets the five signs of ageing in the eye contour area: wrinkles, dark circles, puffiness, fat pockets and sagging.  It combines our patented Vectorised Micro-Collagen for its regenerating effect with firming agents that help combat the loss of skin elasticity, and a duo of micro-draining agents to reduce the signs of fatigue.

Prize and size

One jar contains 15 ml and retails for 43 € here. My 15 ml pot lasted me are than six months of once daily application.

Texture and smell

Even though it looks like a proper cream, it feels pretty lightweight when applied. There is no distinct smell.

Application and effects

The cream sinks in pretty quickly, while still feeling nourishing. I used it in my evening routine, but it worked well under makeup when applied in the mornings. My under eye area felt hydrated and plumped and maybe a little bit firmer.

Favorable ingredients:

  • Glycerin: Hydrating
  • Shea Butter: Moisturizing
  • Ilex Paraguariensis Leaf Extract: High in antioxidants
  • Tocopherol Acetate: Vitamin E, antioxidant
  • Hydrolyzed Rice Protein: Moisturizing
  • Coddea Arabica (Coffee) Seed Extract: Firming, reduces dark circles
  • Hydrogenated Castor Oil: Rich in fatty acids
  • Hydrolyzed Soy Flour: Isoflavone, slows down hormonally induced aging
  • Glycine Soja (Soy Bean) Protein: Isoflavone, slows down hormonally induced aging
  • Oxido Reductases: Increases and prolongs activity of antioxidants
  • Sodium Hyaluronate: Hydrating

The website lists: DNA as “active ingredient”. It sure does contain DNA, it would be nearly impossible to avoid that given the ingredients, but I doubt it will do anything for your skin, and luckily so, because I wouldn´t want Soy DNA to get active in my body. I´ll stick to my own, thank you.

Unfavorable Ingredients:

  • Parabens: I personally don’t mind, some people try to avoid them

Does it live up to its claims?

Most of them.

It has the property to fight wrinkles by hydration and antioxidants, it has caffeine which will help with the appearance of dark circles and puffiness, and it contains collagen. I am not sure how it is planning to attack fat pockets, and the fancy names and the “DNA as active ingredient” claim are a little over the top though.

Would I repurchase?

It is a nice eye cream, but not the end to my hunt for the perfect one. The oxidoreductases are a very interesting ingredient, something I would like to see more of in my skincare.I just wished it wouldn´t be packaged in a jar though.

Who do I recommend it to?

Anyone except people with a very dry under eye area. I think it wouldn´t be rich enough for them.

Of you are looking for a lightweight cream that can be worn under makeup, but is still effective, you should give it a go.

Do foreign things sound more appealing to you?

And have you tried anything from the brand before?
