Taking out the trash VI – June 2016 Empties

Empties and watermelon – is there anything else you need for a chilled summer evening? I don’t think so. This months version features a lot of Antipodes products, which brings back memories of our road trip to New Zealand. And of course turns up the ancient question: Why does everything always have to run out at the same time?

Seasonal Makeup Challenge – Summer 2016

In case you missed the Spring Edition, here is the link to the post explaining what the Seasonal Makeup Challenge is all about.     For the rest of us, the rules as a quick reminder: The rules „At the beginning of a season (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall) I will choose some pieces of makeup from my stash and post them here. By the end of that season I shall post how well (or not) I’ve done using them up, and propose new pieces for the following season.“ (The Polished…

Taking out the trash V – May Empties

Another month, another empties video. This time it is a little bit of everything: Makeup and skincare as well as hair and body care. Oh, and a perfume!     Not that I am going through all these products in one month, mind you, but I am making an effort to finish my stuff before using new one. And as I felt like I needed to stop rambling for ten minutes plus about my trash, I made different piles to film different videos in the time coming.   Aktivieren Sie JavaScript um das…

Inspired by … Jill Stuart Summer 2016

If you are not familiar with the “Inspired by…” series, click here for an explanation. But short story even shorter, each month I choose a seasonal ad and try to recreate the models look with colors I already own. Dressing up and awkward posing included! This month I really wanted to do something with a hat (silly idea, as it turned out), and something blue, so I chose the Jill Stuart Summer 2016 ad for it´s beachy and summery vibes.   Now I had forgotten that I lost my white…

Favorite Face of February 2016

If you are not familiar with the “Favorite Face of …” series, click here for a little introduction. Short story even shorter, it is the makeup that I wore most during that month, featuring the favorite (as in most used) makeup products.     Even though I don’t celebrate Valentines Day, I feel like February is the month were you really can´t escape the pinks. And even though pink usually looks either washed out on me or like I am trying to to Barbie-Cosplay (I wish I had that waist…),…

Inspired by … Dior Glowing Gardens Spring 2016

If you are not familiar with the “Inspired by…” series, click here for an explanation. But short story even shorter, each month I choose a seasonal ad and try to recreate the models look with colors I already own. Dressing up and awkward posing included!   This months installment is the Dior Glowing Gardens Collection, which stood out to me due to the fact that the model was wearing yellow eyeshadow, paired with purple. To be honest, I didn’t own a yellow eyeshadow and don’t think it is a color…

Favorite Face of… January 2016

If you are not familiar with the “Favorite Face of …” series, click here for a little introduction. Short story even shorter, it is the makeup that I wore most during that month, featuring the favorite (as in most used) makeup products. Aktivieren Sie JavaScript um das Video zu sehen.https://youtu.be/hcK6PxRyczo   Just like last month I decided to not only list all the products I reached for, but film a quick tutorial to show you the look my half-asleep self managed to create with them.

MAC Fluidlines – The thin line between crisp and too soft

Being fair, blonde and light in eye color, I sometimes feel like my face lacks definition. Blonde lashes and grey-green eyes blend in with my face until all I see is a blur. It did get better when I realized I needed glasses six years ago, but the ultimate solution is wearing liner. So I wear liner every single day.   And while the crisp line the liquid ones give me is my all time favorite, there are days when I want a softer look. Pencils or smudged eyeshadow are too…

Soft smokey eye tutorial – Favorite Face of December 2015

If you have been around for a while now, you may have gotten used to my “Favorite Face of…” series. Of course I cant tell whether you are bored out of your mind or looking forward to my monthly makeup ramble, but I have been meaning to keep it up.   Now I have started this month with a yearly favorites, so the “Favorite Face of…” is a little late and probably does no longer count as “December Favorites”, which is why I named it “Tutorial” for the upload on…

Inspired by Chanel LA Sunset Spring 2016

If you are not familiar with the “Inspired by…” series, click here for an explanation. But short story even shorter, each month I choose a seasonal ad and try to recreate the models look with colors I already own. Dressing up and awkward posing included!   This months choice was requested by my favorite Italian blogger Carol in a page, who suggested I´d do this one because “I already had the hair” (original quote). Now my hair may have a slight resemblance, but I did lack the wind machine, blue…
