To be fair, I don´t actually have a makeup bag. Well, I do, but I don´t use it to store my everyday makeup in.
But I do have a very tiny bathroom (if you ever watched one of my Instagram Lives you can see me banging my head at the slanting walls), and a husband I need to share that bathroom space with.
And that basically means that most of my makeup lives in my basement/office/filming room and only a few tried and tested products are upstairs for me to get ready in the mornings.
Whenever the season changes I rotate my products and have a few weeks of experimenting before I slowly fall into a rut that allows me to get ready in the mornings while still half asleep.
Today I wanted to show you what actually made the cut for autumn (fall) 2018. If you watch the video, you will see everything in action, while by clicking on the links below you will get to the full reviews should I have already done them.
Base
The L´Oréal Infallible Primer in oil-free, very silicony, is what I apply to my t-zone to make my makeup last a little longer. It is supposed to be mattifying, but while it doesn´t add shine, it doesn´t help that much with shine control either. On top of that I buff in a light layer of the L´Oréal Infallible 24 hr Matte foundation (full review here). It is a tad to dark now that I am my palest self, but I can get away with using it as long as I don´t try to build it up to full coverage.
Blush
While digging through my neutral blushes drawer (yes, I do own multiple versions) I discovered MAC Personal Style, a very taupe, almost grayish brown that I purchased ages ago for contouring. If you are into very (!) subtle definition for your cheek bones and struggle with the orange tones many powders have, it is one that you should look at. Used as blush it can make me look a little grey.
Also from my collection of neutrals comes my beloved MAC Blush All Day (LE), one of the longlasting blushes that really live up to their names and that I, despite owning around seven similar shades, already hit pan on.
Eyes
While I love my smokey eye all year round, autumn is the time where I indulge in warm colors. I fell in love with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette last year (Review) and again reach almost exclusively to it when it comes to doing my eyes.
And as autumn is the season for heavier makeup looks, I don´t feel as guilty in being a little extra with my lashes as well. For both volume and length I pair the pixi Little Black Primer * with the Lancôme Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara.
Lips
Berries, burgundy, terracotta reds… My beloved statement lips have kind of taken the back seat this season and I find myself reaching for what is best described as brownish nudes. The perfect office choice is the pixi Matte Last Lipstick in Pastel Petal*, but the one I reach for the most is the Guerlain Kiss Kiss Matte Lipstick in Crazy Nude*. While it might not be the most comfortable lipstick in terms of formula, I am willing to forgive that because the color, nude with a strong mauve undertone, is just too beautiful.
