Ampoules are quite new in my routine, and the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Poremizing Fresh Ampoule didn’t quite fit into my expectations. I know that they are designed to target specific concerns, but also easily absorb, but every single one I had tried so far was very hydrating. And this one isn’t.

Why it is still my favorite product from the Poremizing line is what we will talk about today.
What the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Poremizing Fresh Ampoule claims
Struggle with enlarged pores? This ampoule will be your new best friend. Containing Pink Himalayan Salt enriched with clarifying minerals, pores are cleared of impurities. Our Peptide 9 Complex promotes skin elasticity to have your pores bouncing back to their normal size.
Facts about the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Poremizing Fresh Ampoule
Prize and size
The ampoule I have contains 100 ml and is available for 18,40 $ on the website here. There are smaller sizes available if you want to try this, with 30 ml for 9,20 $ being the smallest one.
Texture and smell
The product has a little more body than water, but is lighter than other ampoules I have tried. There is no scent and the product isn’t pink, but clear.

How to use the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Poremizing Fresh Ampoule
If you follow the thinnest to thickest method of application, Ampoules go on after toner, but usually before serum, but I personally use it either instead of toner or serum as I don’t want to layer too much stuff on my face. If you prefer to use more products, you can absolutely layer this one, it never caused any pilling for me. (More info: How to layer your skincare products the right way)
Unlike other ampoules I didn’t find this one hydrating though, which, to be fair, isn’t the aim, so when I used it, I had to add in extra hydration.
Ingredients of the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Poremizing Fresh Ampoule

When you look at the ingredient list, you will of course find the Centella Asiatica Extract that is the brands signature ingredient, then the Pink Himalayan Salt that is the main feature of this line and is supposed to absorb sebum. You will find Glycerin and Hyaluronic Acid as humectants as well as Panthenol for soothing. The peptides used are several from the Matrixyl family, aiming to increase collagen production, then two different forms of Argireline, aiming to reduce wrinkles through reduction of muscle contraction. Why they added these two to the mix I am not sure, as targeting wrinkles isn’t really what the product claims to do. The rest of the peptides, Copper Tripeptide-1 and Tripeptide-1 and -2, all target collagen or elastin production, so in line with the strengthening of the skins structure to make pores appear tighter. While the other products from the line have a variety of plant extracts, the ampoule only has two: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf and Chamomille, both for soothing.

Does it live up to its claims?
Well.
It depends on the effect you expect the Pink Himalayan Salt to have. I am not sure if it has a tremendous effect in clearing out your pores, but it might help absorb excess oil. The peptides however do aim to increase skin elasticity, which will have an effect on the appearance of pores.
How does it compare to…

SKIN1004 Probio-Cica Intensive Ampoule
I haven’t reviewed too many ampoules on here, so let’s compare it to the other one from SKIN1004 I have used recently. The Probio-Cica Intensive Ampoule is aimed at more mature skin and much richer than the Poremizing one. This richness comes with some tackiness and despite the claim to reduce excess oil production, which is probably made due to the addition of Niacinamide, I wouldn’t really recommend it for oily, blemish prone skin.

Would I repurchase and which skin types do I recommend the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Poremizing Fresh Ampoule to?
The SKIN1004 Poremizing Fresh Ampoule is my favorite product from the whole Poremizing line, but to be fair the whole line isn’t aimed at people my age, so it isn’t a favorite favorite, but more the best from a selection that didn’t work for my skin at all. (read: I will not repurchase)
It aims to reduce the appearance of pores by strengthening the surrounding collagen structure, so should work for anyone trying to improve skin firmness overall. It isn’t hydrating, but very lightweight and layers very well. It should work for all skin types depending on what you pair it with.
