When it came to jewelry, I used to be silver only for many years. Not because it suited me best, but because wearing gold made me feel older than I actually was.

In my mind golden rings and bracelets were reserved for, you know, adults. People that earned money in proper jobs and knew what they were talking about. If I wore gold, I felt like dressing up as someone I wasn´t, a girl pretending to be her mother.

With more knowledge about skin tones and warm and cool colors I came to realize that gold actually suits me way better than silver does. On top of that I had to admit that despite having a proper job now and earning money (hell, even being a mother!) I would probably never feel like I belonged to the truly adult people. The ones that know what they are talking about.

In fact, I came to wonder if anyone really ever feels like he belongs to that group of adult adults, but I digress.

Coming back to topic (or at least as close to topic as I ever get): These days I mix and match my jewelry, but I still consider gold, especially combined with white, a very grown up combination. The Asambeauty Vitamin E Skin Smoothing 24h Cream * is white and gold in packaging, and a sophisticated and grown-up cream indeed.

What Asambeauty claims

This silky cream contains a high concentration of scientifically proven antioxidant Vitamin E. It helps smooth the skin and protects from environmental stress and premature ageing. Squalan and ceramide nourish and smoothen the skin. The light fruity scent is subtle and pleasant.

Facts

Prize and size

One pot contains 100 ml and retails for 29,75 € on the website here.

Texture and smell

Though a proper cream, it is not heavy to the touch, but feels light and almost whipped when you scrape it out of the pot. The scent is fruity indeed, not my favorite but not too strong and doesn´t linger.

Application and effects

A night time cream for me as I only use the lightest of moisturizers in the morning, it did sink in quickly and never felt suffocating. I started using it when cold, wind and retinol started to take a toll on my skin. Now I changed a few steps over the cause of the last year, so I can´t attribute the effects on the cream only, but my skin felt stronger and more hydrated than it did the year before.

A lot of Vitamin E, in several different variations and, not mentioned in the description, a lot of repairing and soothing ingredients like ceramide, phospholipids and squalane. On top of that a selection of humectants and emollients to boost hydration, which in total makes this cream great for dehydrated and irritated skin. I personally could have done without the added lactic acid, I do my acids in a separate step, but I get that this is what backs up the skin smoothing claims.

Does it live up to its claims?

Yes.

All of them.

Would I repurchase?

Maybe.

It takes a lot to fully convince me when it comes to moisturizers, and while this comes close, I think I will try to find one without the added lactic acid and sodium lactate.

Who do I recommend it to?

Anyone with irritated and dehydrated skin, especially people that don´t rely on a daily chemical exfoliant, but still want a little to help in terms of texture.

Especially people that look for a more lightweight, yet repairing moisturizer will enjoy this one.
