New In Beauty April 2018: pixi, Caudalie and more

Back when I first started getting into makeup, I would often raid my mothers stash.

Apply her lipsticks, ruin her rouge, drench myself in her perfume – basically making a big mess. Now that I am grown up (and a blogger), things are usually the other way round.

She plays with my lipsticks, inherits my eye cream and enjoys the packages that arrive at my doorstep just as much as I do.

But when I opened her cabinet recently and saw that she had purchased quite a few Caudalie products, I figured it was time to go back to the old days and help myself to some new skincare!

I will show you what I picked up in the video linked below, along with a short review on each product. The in depth skincare reviews will, as always, be up on the blog in the following weeks, so I will only discuss the powder separately in this post.

Manhattan Soft Mat Loose Powder, 20 g, 5,95 € here

“Soft powder for a perfectly matt and tender complexion. Dual use: alone or for make-up fixation. Suitable for all skin types, especially combination and oily skin.”

I admit I rarely use this powder on its own. If I bother to apply something on my face, I prefer something with a little coverage and color. This powder, despite coming in two different shades, appears colorless on my skin (probably the perfect match?).

Applied with the powder puff that comes with purchase it does a great job at mattifying my t-zone, but only controls the shine for around two hours before I feel the need to blot and reapply. Reapplying isn’t an issue though, as the powder is extremely light weight and doesn’t cake up on me.

If your skin is less oily than mine, it might keep you shine free for longer.
