When I uploaded my Updated Morning Skincare Routine for spring recently (find it here), I got a lot of questions on the Good Molecules Daily Brightening Serum.

In general brightening seems to be a topic that gets a lot of attention, something I absolutely understand – my face is covered in hyperpigmentation that only someone as loving as my husband could mistake for “cute freckles”.

What can I say, I am a child of the 80s, where a tan was mandatory and SPF 4 considered more than enough.

So bring on the brightening products and let´s see if the Good Molecules Daily Brightening Serum is worth the money.

What the Good Molecules Daily Brightening Serum claims

Maintain a bright, even-toned complexion with this Daily Brightening Serum from Good Molecules. Beta arbutin and hyaluronic acid go to work to gently brighten and promote a healthy, youthful complexion without irritation.

How to use the Good Molecules Daily Brightening Serum

While the Good Molecules Daily Brightening Serum can be used moth morning and night, I prefer to use it in the mornings. It keeps my skin hydrated, works well under makeup and offers some hyperpigmentation fighting action throughout the day.

Arbutin as second ingredient to help combat hyperpigmentation by blocking the melanin forming activity of Tyrosinase and a mixture of different humectants like Glycerin and different molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid for hydration.

Does the Good Molecules Daily Brightening Serum live up to its claims?

Yes.

Of course more than just one serum is needed for a bright and even complexion, but Arbutin is surely a good one to have in your arsenal if that is something you strive for (and who doesn´t?).

How does the Good Moleucles Daily Brightening Serum compare to…

Good Molecules Niacinamide Brightening Toner

From the same range, this toner also contains Arbutin, although probably in a much lower concentration, but combines it with a Vitamin C derivate as well as Niacinamide. It is less hydrating though, so I prefer the serum in the mornings and the toner at night.

Would I repurchase?

Yes.

It is a nice hydrating serum that has some extra brightening properties, which I like. I wouldn´t rely on Arbutin solely to combat my hyperpigmentation, but it is a welcome addition to any routine that wants to tackle uneven skintone.

Whom do I recommend it to?

I think it is suitable for all skin types as it is formulated without common irritants. Hydration is something needed even for the younger skin types and the Arbutin offers a little extra for overall brighter skin.
